Tom
and Jean Gaunt gave
the keynote address and showed clips from the film for
The System of Care Conference.
Later, their adopted son Christopher joined them in a
break session discussing his adoption and the importance
of permanency in his life and the lives of his brothers
and sisters.
In
2006 A Place Called Home
won the
Audience Award for Best Feature Film
and the Hoosier Lens Award.
In
2004 A Place Called Home won a
Crystal Heart Award
from the Heartland Film Festival.
The film also received a 2nd Place for
Best Documentary
at the International Family Film Festival, an
Honorable Mention Award at the
ReelHeART International Film Festival and was screened at over 20
film festival nationally and internationally.
